This Nissan is the Z31 model. It was sold in Japan as the Fairlady Z.
According to Wikipedia, the Pontiac Fiero was the first two-seater Pontiac since the 1930's, and also the first and only mass-produced mid-engine sports car by a U.S. manufacturer.
