How wonderful that summer time has arrived this morning along with the sunshine. Temperatures are set to soar for the next few days along with my spirits. As I type at six thirty in the evening, the sun is still filtering through the kitchen window sending shadows into the deepest corners. Wizard has only just returned from the garden with the look of contentment after an afternoon snoozing in the summer house. It’s good to be a cat.
A funny old few days starting with a burst water pipe in the road and no water for seven hours. Such a precious commodity that we so take for granted. Turn the water off and we are totally bereft. I can’t tell you how many times I turned on the tap before remembering. It was wonderful when it finally returned although our road is still closed with a massive hole in the tarmac. I’m preparing for tomorrow when the workmen return and a possible cut off again. Fingers crossed all will be well.
The outside of the house is due to be repainted next week and with the forecasted sun it should be an easy job. Climbers have had to be undone from the house wall and now dangle forlornly , can’t wait for the time to return them safely to their wires. The painter has only just made it as in another few weeks the growth on some of the plants would be too much to get round.
So tomorrow we will be up with the lark and making the most of the dry weather. Weeding and seed sewing is scheduled as well as a good dig of the veggie plot. Most of the winter plants have now gone to seed including the rocket which has rather pretty flowers etched in the sunshine. Along with my book post I’ll be back with a through the garden gate once everything is looking a little tidier.
